Destinations

From the vibrant liveliness of Mahé to the enchanting simplicity of La Digue, Seychelles gleams with a cluster of idyllic holiday destinations. From secluded spots for solitude seekers to vibrant locales for the social butterflies, here's a snapshot of some of the highlights.

Mahé

This is the largest island and the heart of Seychelles. The bustling capital, Victoria, offers colourful markets and delicious Creole cuisine, while the surrounding landscapes are dotted with breathtaking beaches such as the popular Beau Vallon.

Praslin

Home to the UNESCO World Heritage site, Vallée de Mai, Praslin is a testament to the richness of life. Possessing one of the two only places where the loved Coco de Mer palm grows in its natural state, the island is a paradise for nature lovers.

La Digue

If you’re seeking laid-back island life, look no further than La Digue. Explore the island by bicycle, visit the iconic Anse Source D’Argent and discover one of the most photographed beaches in the world.

Silhouette Island

Perfect for those who crave seclusion, Silhouette Island is an idyllic hideaway. Housing just one resort, it boasts untouched beaches and expansive national parks.

Bird Island

Regarded as one of the world’s top eco-tourism hotspots, Bird Island is a sanctuary for nature lovers. From tracking hawksbill and green turtles to witnessing the spectacle of millions of migratory birds, it is a unique experience waiting to be discovered.

Where to Stay

Whether it’s family-friendly resorts full of activities, couples' spa retreats or affordable locally-owned guesthouses, Seychelles boasts a wide range of accommodations that cater to everyone's needs. Below are our recommendations for where to stay, depending on your companions.

For a family holiday

Choose Beau Vallon in Mahé, home to an expansive beach offering plenty of activities for both parents and kids, including water sports, and safe areas for swimming. The capital, Victoria, is also close by for easy access to restaurants and markets.

For a couples holiday

Opt for Praslin, offering tranquil beaches for romantic sunset walks, and the private, almost untouched, Anse Lazio. The island also has several luxury resorts, which offer couple spa treatments and private dinners.

For a holiday with friends:

La Digue is a great destination for friends. With bicycle-friendly roads, you can easily explore the island's beaches, cafes, and bars. The island also offers unique experiences such as snorkelling and turtle spotting.

When to Visit

The charm of Seychelles can be experienced year-round, thanks to its tropical climate. However, if you're after the clearest waters for diving and snorkelling, plan your visit between March and May, or September to November. For sailing enthusiasts, the trade winds from May to September provide perfect conditions. Despite being warm year-round, it is worth noting that December to February can be slightly rainier. Yet, the occasional showers often make way for lovely sunshine, making the Seychelles an attractive destination for sun-seekers at any time of the year.
