Where to Stay

From Thailand's cosmopolitan cities to its tranquil islands, deciding where to base yourself can be quite a challenge. Here's our guide to help you find the perfect spot whether you're travelling with your loved one, your family, or your friends.

For a family holiday

Phuket is an excellent choice for family holidaymakers, offering beautiful beaches, family-friendly resorts and attractions like Phuket Aquarium. For a cultural immersion, consider Chiang Mai, with its fascinating temples, colourful festivals and elephant sanctuaries.

For a couples holiday

For a romantic and intimate Thai experience, the islands of Koh Samui or Phi Phi could be your ideal getaways. These idyllic spots offer world-class resorts, beautiful scenery, and plenty of opportunities for couple-themed activities like romantic sunset cruises.

For a holiday with friends

If you're travelling with friends, Bangkok offers a combination of cultural attractions, shopping, and an exciting nightlife. If your group craves a beachfront experience, Pattaya or Phuket, with their vibrant parties, water sports activities, and beach clubs, could be just the ticket.

When to Visit

Deciding when to visit Thailand largely depends on the region you're planning to visit. For Bangkok and the northern cities like Chiang Mai, November to February is optimal, as the climate is relatively cool and dry.

Southern Thailand, including Phuket and Krabi, experiences its best weather from November to April, perfect for those seeking a beach holiday. For great deals and fewer crowds, May to October, known as the rainy season, can still be a viable option, as tropical showers are usually brief and often provide cool relief from the heat.
