Where to Stay

From sequestered eco-retreats in the heart of rainforests to comfortable family resorts by the beach, Queensland offers a variety of accommodations for every kind of traveller. Let’s help you find the perfect place to lay your head after your Queensland escapade.

For a family holiday

The Gold Coast is brimming with family-friendly resorts, numerous attractions and child-friendly beaches. Consider a stay on Sunshine Coast for a more laid-back family holiday filled with nature walks and quiet beach days.

For a couples holiday

Port Douglas offers romantic seclusion with its luxury resorts, indulgent spas and intimate dining options. Alternatively, treat yourselves to an island retreat on the Whitsunday Islands where turquoise waters, white sands and exclusive resorts result in the perfect romantic getaway.

For a holiday with friends

Brisbane's lively nightlife, flourishing foodie scene and a plethora of trendy neighbourhoods are a draw for groups of friends. For an adventurous group outing, head to Cairns and experience diving trips in the Great Barrier Reef or a four-wheel thrill ride in the surrounding rainforests.

When to Visit

Queensland is a year-round destination gifted with a tropical climate. However, the best time to visit largely depends on your holiday plans. For a beach holiday on the Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast, the summer months from December to February promise warm waters and sunshine. If you're planning on exploring the rainforests and the Great Barrier Reef, the dry season from May to September brings pleasant temperatures and lower humidity. Less crowded resorts and lower prices make the shoulder periods (spring and autumn) attractive for those flexible with their dates.
