Menorca

Menorca, the peaceful sibling, is just the ticket for a tranquil getaway. The quiet beaches, slow pace of life, and delightful coastal towns like Ciutadella and Mahón make for a relaxing break.

Formentera

The smallest of the Balearic Islands, Formentera, is your off-the-beaten-track choice. Its powder white beaches, crystal-clear waters, and charming lighthouses transport you to a tranquil, idyllic paradise.

Pollença

This northern town in Mallorca offers narrow streets to wander, a verdant countryside to explore, and a beautiful marina in Puerto Pollença. It’s especially popular with families and those looking for a quieter holiday.

Where to Stay

From the vibrant clubbing scene of Ibiza to the serene town squares of Menorca, the Balearic Islands offer the perfect stay for any holidaymaker. Here’s our guide on where to hang your hat during your trip.

For a family holiday

Mallorca's north coast is ideal for families, with safe, child-friendly beaches and plenty of attractions for all ages. Alcúdia is particularly popular, boasting a long sandy beach, a charming old town, and a bustling marina.

For a couples' holiday

For romantic getaways, Ibiza offers a host of chic boutique hotels, secluded beaches, and intimate restaurants. For a touch of luxury, head to the ultra-plush resorts in Cala Jondal or take a sunset sail along the western coast.

For a holiday with friends

Ibiza's Playa d'en Bossa or San Antonio are the epicentres of the island's famous nightlife, making them ideal for holidaying with friends. Hang out at beach clubs during the day and party at the super-clubs at night for an unforgettable trip.

When to Visit

The Balearic Islands enjoy warm, sunny summers and mild, pleasant winters, making them an attractive holiday destination year-round. But for the typical beach holiday, the best time to visit is between May and October, when temperatures are high, and rainfall is minimal.

July and August can get very crowded, but visit in May, June, September or October, and the weather is still lovely, without the masses. Winters on the islands are good for sightseeing and hiking, when the crowds are minimal, and the landscape flourishes after the autumn rains.
